INTRODUCTION TO THE FESTIVAL





the festival videodanza de puerto rico is a yearly core activity of vision.ai.r-e. IN keeping with the values of the company, the festival Contributes to the development of dance, cinematography and audiovisual arts in Puerto Rico, supporting the growth of the industry and profession by expanding the scope of creative processes and production. The festival embraces action to demonstrate the important contribution that screen dance and video dance can make as a tool for social impact, leading the way towards a diverse, inclusive and accessible society.



Through multiple actions under the umbrella of the festival VISION.AI.R-E aims to;

  • Support young people and established professionals (choreographers, dancers and audiovisual artists) based in Puerto Rico, to carry out new and innovative projects in dialogue with the new advances in technology that are reshaping access and participation in these fields.
  • Open a creative space that gives cultural presence to other voices and bodies that traditional and contemporary dance forgets, recognizing the need to move the dance profession and education in Puerto Rico to include participants with diverse ethnicities, gender identities, physical and cognitive skills.
  • Encourage the participation of a broader audience, not only from dance but also from cinema, audiovisual, and visual arts with a desire to discover and engage with these new narratives.
  • Establish the Festival Videodanza de Puerto Rico as a focal destination for screen dance and videodance within the landscape of the best specialized festivals worldwide.






I.D.E.ALL





IMMERSIVE. DIGITAL. EXPERIENCES [for] ALL



I.D.E.ALL is a first in Puerto Rico, increasing access to global innovations in performing and visual arts in dialogue with new digital technologies including VR (Virtual Reality), AI (Artificial Intelligence), XR (Expanded Reality).


As part of the Festival Videodanza de Puerto Rico I.D.E.ALL serves as an intensive kick-starter to champion new collaborations between performing artists and creators. To date no such transdisciplinary work has originated here. For the arts ecology of Puerto Rico, it aims to open unique industry paths to benefit local artists through links to global partners and to expand access to art to a wider population island- wide. In 2024 I.D.E.ALL will offer artists and the general public a curated exhibition presenting international tech-artwork of artistic excellence bringing together dance, choreography and new technologies in work that is hybrid and participatory. Seminars, workshops, curated dialogues and other parallel events will provide opportunities for artists and the public to engage directly with artists and their processes.
